Lightweight Social Sharing Buttons

What it does

This WordPress-plugin adds social sharing buttons (Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest) to posts and pages. It doesn’t load any external scripts or images (the images for the buttons are stored in the `/lightweight-social-sharing-buttons/images/` directory). The Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest buttons link to their respective sharing pages and send the permalink of the post via the URL. The Twitter-button also sends the post title in addition to the permalink.

What it should look like when it’s installed

Depending on your theme and styling options, it should look like this when everything is working properly:

  • Upload the `lightweight-social-sharing-buttons` folder to the `/wp-content/plugins/` directory
  • Activate the plugin through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress
  • The buttons should show up on your single pages and single posts!

5 gedachten over “Lightweight Social Sharing Buttons”

  1. Hey, Is it possible to move the share buttons below my post content?

More importantly is there a way to display the share buttons on the posts only and not the pages? It would be nice to have a drop menu in the admin area to select (POSTS, PAGES OR POSTS & PAGES), if you could add this little fix i will be sure to activate the plugin again.

Thanks for the very nice lightweight and fast social plugin.

  2. Hey Marcel, great idea – although I do agree with the comment above, some little additions would considerably increase the appeal to us who are non-tech savvy…
Are you thinking to continue development?
